BUSINESS CLASS : a new seat was installed last year, based on the angled lie-flat format. For an airline that should be targeting a Premium business class, this seat is disappointing, and comfort levels do not rank at the expected level. Seat width is adequate, but privacy not great. In the seated / relaxing position the seat comfort is okay, but in full, angled lie-flat recline the sleep comfort is somewhat poor. The seat cushion is quite flat but firm, and not very forgiving when assessing sleep comfort. Score : 7/10

HEL-HKG return. Spacious seat, comfortable, easy to sleep. Cabin crew very helpful. Food and drinks fine. Only downside is that there isn't a wide range of films in the entertainment system.

HEL-HKG. The seats are excellent. Business cabin seats 30 passengers. Very good pitch. 16:9 LCD panel for video-on-demand entertainment. Each seat equipped with electric power socket and USB + LAN sockets. Seats could be lie-flat at an incline. Seat back massage airbag available as extra feature. Food is quite good. Service excellent, flight attendants courteous and attentive.

Helsinki - Mumbai. I was positively surprised by Finnair business cabin. After reading this forum I was prepared for the worst. But the seats were good (wider than BA) but did not recline full, the food was excellent, the wine good and the service very good. I would definitely fly this again.

Finnair's new Majesty Lie-Flat seats are a joke. Older seats were comfortable to sit, but not to sleep, but these new seats are not good in any position. Only good thing is that you have plenty of space, so you can get out and back to your seat easily, which you must do every 30 mins to keep fit. And to previous commentator, food and drinks are good. That helped me over this 9 hour flight from HEL-BKK.

The Finnair Business Seat was quite comfortable. Given the price which we purchased the fare you really couldn't complain. Whilst not lie flat (similar pitch to QF) it was comfortable, wide and cabin was quiet. Managed 6-7 hours sleep on a 9 hour flight from Helsinki to Bangkok. Agree with other reviewers that the food was not great.

Yes its a change from old Finnair seats, but it is still NOT a lie-flat seat. Uncomfortable to get to sleep in this angle location. Like KLM, Finnair has just installed a product that a number of other airlines are now removing to put in proper flat bed seats - talk about being behind the time! I guess some embarassed management faces at Finnair over this mistake.

New seats are an improvement on old type, but like many other carriers, this is an inferior business class seat for Finnair. Specially so when you consider this is meant to be a premium Biz cabin, and they do not offer first class. Compared to British Airways or Virgin, Finnair seats are a cheap alternative that will cost them custom maybe. Of course, Finnair cheap fares can be found outside Finland, so maybe they are viewing this as a discount biz class product. IFE standards remain quite poor, and sadly the form of onboard catering is more like premium economy with other airlines. Would rather give this a 2 score - its better than 1 but not meriting 3.
