BUSINESS CLASS : a conventional seat style, not offering full recline to a flat seat layout. This seat reclines to about 170 degrees, but legrest does not come up high enough / long enough to offer much sleep comfort. Arranged 2x2x2, the seats do not have any privacy partitions, and unpadded metal footrest makes sleeping uncomfortable. No good for those that like to lie on their side to sleep, and seat really offers relaxing rather than sleeping position. Seat in front when reclined is very intrusive into passenger seat area. Comfort Score : 6/10

JFK-FCO. An uncomfortable ride in seats that look about 15 years old. No proper recline to sleep, and was trapped into my window seat when guy in front reclined and adjoing seat also resting. Alitalia should be ashamed of these seats, but I guess in their financial crisis they cannot change it now.

In all fairness the 2-2-2 seat configuration in a wide-body aircraft like the 777 is not usual in transatlantic routes. In this regard, Alitalia fares very well. Like other airlines however, it does not offer full flat recline.

RATING

The seat is not full-flat but has good angle. You can sleep although is not full recline. Better the last seats of the section because of the amenity: you are far away from the galley and you won't be disturbed.
