The seat was the new type, upright position is nice. When the person in front of you reclines, their head is right in
front of your TV. I understand it is short to medium haul airline but since this is the 'new' seat I see this as an
opportunity missed. Food normal, but only one choice which sort of defeats the purpose of a menu. I would fly BMI
business class again, but only at a cheap price.

LHR-Almaty in business, and for the price paid it was dreadful. Apart from the staff, who were pleasant,,
everything else was horrible. No welcoming drink on boarding and no nice washbag. White wine was warm
(was told they had no chilling facilities). I asked for a glass of the claret (which they had), and was
invited to choose from the Italian or Australian selection. Food was indifferent, cutlery was the
cheapest plastic bought in bulk from cash and carry. The entertainment selection was limited and came in
a set it up yourself tv box. The worst business class flight I can remember, and finally (although this
wasn't the airline's fault), just as I was beginning to doze, a very irate steward came onto the public
address system telling us that someone had been caught smoking in the lavatory, that this was strictly
illegal, extremely dangerous and could other passengers please refrain from doing the same. Fair enough:
he's absolutely right, but he didn't need to shout it into the microphone and wake everyone up. A quiet
word with the culprit, surely, would have been enough. Will go some lengths to avoid next time i go to
Almaty.

Seat 4C on a BMI 757. Recline mechanism not functioning at all and no spare seats (overnight
Freetown to London. Recline when it does work only takes you backwards a short distance. Apart
from a wider seat, might just as well sit in economy and pay half!

The seats were good on the whole - they were the new type and yes, they are a little hard right now and will no doubt soften with age. Personally I find it
hard to sleep on any airplane and was hoping it would be different on this one but still got not sleep - guess I'm just not the type who can sleep on a plane!
Only complaint was cleanliness of the seat. In their upright position they are nice and clean - however, on both outbound and inbound flights when you put the
seats in the lie-flat position they show a lot of dirt - I wonder what a good swab would have shown in a lab! It is not hard to put the seat in the lie-flat
position, wipe with an anti-bacterial wipe and vacuum up the food waste from previous user! However service was excellent every step of the way. Particularly
liked the separate queue at Manchester airport security!

Seat 1G ORD-MAN. The new seats are leather & not as comfortable as the old business seats in the sitting
position-perhaps they will soften up with age. Beware of seats 1A,C,H,K as these were not fitted with personal
tv's and whilst you are provided with a dvd player, you cannot use this whilst eating due to lack of space. I
had a comfortable night's sleep however on the flat (but still slightly angled to the ground) bed, again a
little on the hard side, but if you could get your hands on a spare duvet to lie on top of, that should make it
more comfortable. The service was outstanding.
