BUSINESS CLASS : there are several types of Business Class seat offered across the Emirates
Boeing 777 and Airbus A330/A340 fleet. A negative factor is that Emirates uses a 2x3x2 cabin layout
on many aircraft, and this is below an acceptable Business Class comfort standard - the dreaded middle
seat being provided. None of the seat layouts offers a true lie-flat recline, with the newest product
an angled lie-flat format - average for sitting/relaxing positions, but poor for sleeping comfort. Score : 6/10
FIRST CLASS : a mixed product. At best, the First Class suites offer a good level of privacy, and whilst
slightly cramped in width terms, the flat bed format offers a good sleeping position. Older First Class
seats have a poor full recline comfort level, and do not match many airlines newer Business Class standards.
9/10 for the suites, and 5/10 for older style seats. Overall score : 7/10 |

The 2x3x2 in Business class between Dubai and Bangkok is very uncomfortable and should be avoided,
it’s more like an superior Economy Class cabin. The seats are old and really create a credibility
gap in the Emirates airlines standard. Business Class luxury and ambience simply no longer exists on this sector.

J Class on KUL-DXB-KUL. Seats were extremely tight. I agree with Peter Wood that EK J Class seating
goes back beyond 15 years. They need to replace these old seats or they will find themselves unpopular |

In sleeping position you will not be able to move, if the seat in front of you is fully reclined. This
is business class style 10 to 15 years back! |

Modern, quiet aircraft, shame about the seats. Long way behind the top airlines. 14 hours in business
class without a lie-flat must make Emirates almost unique by modern standards. |

The suite was wonderful, although it does look like it has had a few bumps since introduced in 2003.
The privacy was excellent. The doors on the return flight were broken, and I had to manually close
them. As always with emirates ICE was fantastic. Overall I would say this was a great flight, and I
agree with people requesting duvets. |

Airbus A330 First Class
A330 seats are awful for a first class offering. More like premium
business on a regional airline. Only flew daytime (knowing old aircraft
was on this route LGW-DXB). I would only fly on newer 777-300ER / A340
overnight - but coming from UK you won't see a A340 and very limited
777-300ER service so book carefully! Two standards in one class - not
very user friendly.

Boeing 777-300ER Business Class
Business Class in the new seats is a huge improvement on EK's older J-
Class product with the largest improvement being that there are now real
flat beds in Business! Seat pitch was fine and I'm 6'2". Only issue with
the new seat is that it is perhaps a bit narrow which is noticeable if
you are sleeping on your side. IFE is excellent as always with the new
ICE system and large 19" personal in-seat screens. The wooden trim
effect around the screens in addition to around the windows is also a
nice effect. Seat massage function has separate massage zones for your
lower legs/upper legs/back/shoulders which was nice, but could have been
more powerful.

Boeing 777-300 Business Class
Our experience of the seats in Emirates was like going back 10 years or
more - just leather recliners, where you had to try & sleep at an angle
that was not comfortable, & this was for the flight to & from Australia
via Dubai! The service was excellent, pity the seats weren't.

DXB-LHR. The aircraft was incredibly knocked about and the seats really
showed it. Far more cramped than 777-200 Business and IFE screen was
pathetically small. Emirates really must upgrade their 777 interiors

Sydney-Dubai was excellent, superb entertainment system. Colour change
cabin lighting, good food too! Transiting in Dubai manic. A330 DXB-LGW
cramped and seat too high under thighs, and doesn't recline
sufficiently.

Airbus 340-500 First Class
DXB-SYD Best 1st class I've been on. The privacy and space on the
A340-500 is unmatched. Service excellent. Ice system is great, but on
two occasions on the DXB-SYD flights this was not working for the first
hour including lights and seat adjustment. This had to be reprogrammed.
All other seats were working well. If travelling from UK to Australia
don't expect this level of comfort on the 777 from UK to Dubai leg, not
much different to the average business class.

Airbus 340-500 First Class
DXB-SYD return. Was in suite 1A probably the best in the cabin. Cabin
crew good and food superb. The suite itself is probably the best first
class and the amount of privacy is amazing. Entertainment system was
brilliant. Only criticism is that it would be more comfortable to have a
duvet instead of blanket.

As a tall passenger I appreciate the lack of overhead luggage bins. I

been fantastic.

Airbus 340-500 Business Class
The shell style seat is not a flat bed but reclines well and has a good legrest. The problem I found
is that if you are over 6ft 2 the legroom is somewhat cramped, the foot-well of the
seat in front is not exactly generous. The seat is too complicated to work and requires a lot of playing with to find a good sleeping position.

Hong Kong to Bangkok about a three hour fight. The aircraft was going onwards to
Dubai. The seats are old style and cramped for C class, cabin crew indifferent,
movies (well there were none) food average. The only positive thing I can say is
that they were on time.

Boeing 777 Business Class
I was on the last row of the Business Class coming back to Dubai from Singapore,
in other words my back seat was against the partition. Because of this the seat
would not recline as others and I could not sleep a quarter of an hour out of
the 7.5 hours flight. The last row of business class is next to the first row of
economy where all newborn are accommodates. The infants cried all night non
stop. I think that had I booked in economy it would have been better off and
would have saved a full fare business class price.

Boeing 777-300 First Class
Emirates is substituting 777-300s on the DBX-JFK route, instead of the 340-500.
This is terrible if you are paying for First Class. What I got on the 777 was a
glorified Business Class with cramped 2-2-2 seating, not the "Private Suites"
advertised on "specially configured" Airbus 340. The 777 was intolerable for a
14 hour flight - but the price was just the same as for the Private Suite
service. This is "Bait and Switch."
