EVA Air Business Class seat reviews

BUSINESS CLASS : angled lie-flat seats are being fitted by EVA Air. In the sitting position, the comfort
levels are fine, but when fully reclined, the angle effect is poor, and you find yourself sliding down the seat.
The seat area can also feel somewhat confined when seat adjacent is reclined and difficult access for window
seat passengers. Better dividing privacy partitions would have been nice. Score : 7/10
FIRST CLASS : This has been discontinued by EVA Air (2007) |

Decent AVOD although some rivals offer much wider selection of movies. Ordered
food prior to departure which gave much greater selection and all meals
delivered as requested. The seat itself is angled but I found that with a
couple of pillows and duvets (the flight was quite empty so we were able to
source spares) it was comfortable and I managed 7 hours sleep on the flight out.
Its not BA or Virgin in terms of bed but was very cost effective.

Flew Taipei to Seattle on one of the first 777's outfitted with the new seating.
I cannot comment about my seat as it did not work the entire 11 hour flight;
despite the heroic effort of the flight attendents to fix it. Might as well
flown economy and saved $3000. My wife's seat functioned normally. However, once
reclined there is a tendency to slide down, as was noted by other travelers. EVA
needs to consider fixes, even if it ultimately results in another 're-do'.

AVOD is very good, and seating space is fine, but it's the same old story about these "lie flat-
- but not horizontal seats". In the fully reclined position, you start to slide down toward the
bottom of the seat (the slippery slope?). I found myself constantly having to push myself back up to
normal position. I wish their seats would allow you to simply put the seat back back all the way,
without the lower portion dive-bombing into this ridiculous angle.

The seat was alright, although I found it better to sleep partially reclined then fully reclined into the flat surface. The seat
functions were very general and lacked features such as back massage, etc. |

The new Premium Laurel seats in Eva's business class are awful if you have any kind of back problem. The seat is not horizontal in the
flat sleeping position, it is angled downwards at 110 degrees. It is impossible to incline the backrest very far before the horizontal
sit-on portion of the seat starts to angle downwards. On all but the front rows of the cabin there is insufficient room to bolster one's
legs into a horizontal position. Regular business/first class fare paying flyers condemn this new seat. The only approval seems to be
from the many passengers upgraded to fill the 42 seats of the unnecessarily enlarged business class. |

BKK-LHR Nice aircraft but was not impressed with the new Premium Laurel class seating. IFE not as good as the new TG, MH or CX and if you
are near the front you will be constantly disturbed by flight attendants up and down the aisle all night. I preferred the old first class
seating upstairs and out the way on the old 744. Back to using TG I think. |

Premium Laurel Class on new A330 from HNL to TPE and back. Two class configuration. Seats same as Singapore Air's Raffles Class - lie
flat at an incline with collapsing arm rest for extra width. These are plenty comfortable for me, but I sleep better in a cradled
position rather than flat. Very good AVOD with multiple movie choices. Excellent service throughout both flights. Booked meals online
(extra choices not available on plane) and all meal requests were honored and food was pretty good. |

The new Premium Laurel seats in Eva's business class are good (they do not have a first class). The seat is not horizontal, but adjusts
to be angled, and the service on board is good. I would consider EVA - although avoid them on the ground (especially the Executive lounge
at Taipei as this is shabby). |

Old seat, not much better than the Deluxe class - you know, maybe it was the same old seat!! The service and food was great. IFE wasn't
as good as ANA economy. Don't pay for Business class, upgrade - fine, otherwise save your money and go with Deluxe class. |
