BUSINESS CLASS : the new Business class seat offers a comfortable format in the sitting/relaxing
position, being arranged in pairs (2x2x2). The seats are the angled lie-flat type, and if you manage to
secure a seat in the front row, the legrest comes more to the horizontal and offers a flatter sleeping
surface. These are one of the better angled lie-flats, and there is less of the sliding down effect that
one experiences with so many other airline angled lie-flat seats. Score : 8/10

Seat very comfortable in sitting and lie-flat positions. I managed 4 hours of sleep on an 11.5 hour
flight between Madrid and Guatemala City. I am 1.8m tall and with the tilted seat I was glad that
the seat in front was close enough that I plant my feet against it to prevent me from slipping.
In Business Plus the service is good, though not as good as my experience with BA. Food is good and
good choice of wines, but still not up to BA standards (my experience was pre the launch of new
Business class). To listen to the video entertainment, I had to press my finger on the headphone
connector for the entire flight because if I didn't then audio wasn't audible. That left me with a
sore hand after some hours. Replacing headphones didn't work, so obviously problem was in the socket
that you plug into. Also, as usual Iberia pays no attention to punctuality and makes no effort to
organise the boarding process so it becomes a mad struggle.

The business class seats are within a rigid shell, arranged in 3 rows of 2 each. Because of the
shell, there is no problem of reclining the seat into the lap (or laptop) of the person behind. The
fully flat position does go under the seat in front, and this makes it difficult to have anything
stored on the floor in the limited area available for that. There is actually much more floor
storage available in the forward bulkhead seats. The motorized controls are easy to manipulate and
there is a one button control that allows easy movement to the fully flat position. I found it
necessary to use the footrest to maintain myself comfortably while sleeping. Also, the interior arm
rest can be moved nearly entirely out of the way and that adds to the seat room, particularly in the
fully reclined position. Overall, as comfortable a business seat as I have used across the
Atlantic. Now, if there were only more commodious overhead storage.

MIA-MAD. I agree the seat is designed for short people. I am 6'2" and the headrest even though it
moves up was jammed into my shoulder blades. Rows 6 and 7 (secondary business class cabin) is much
more exclusive.

recommend better pillows and blankets for business |

Business Class

The Iberia business class seat has been designed for short people -
sitting in them is uncomfortable, sleeping is a bit better but nowhere
near lie flat, the seat in front prevents the footrest to come up
higher. Too bad they didn't space them out a bit more then it would be
ok, like on the first row of the back part in the A 340-300.

Mad-Mvd-Mad- new business class seats on quite a number of occasions,
the product is fine and quite comfy - now the service, punctuality and
FA behaviour is something else. I wonder why with this new product IB is
not getting their act together and offer a full good service. Food is
bad and FA inconsistent!

Iberia is very lucky they have relatively decent seats because every other aspect leaves a lot to be
desired. The food, the entertainment and the staff where poor to say the least.

To me the widest angled lie-flat seat I´ve recently flown. Massage options quite helpful when
stretching after a good 5 hour sleep in my trip back to Spain. Food OK and winery highly
recommendable.

What a disappointment this new Iberia seat is! Expected something that would be
the premium business class that Iberia had advertised - they show the seat in
ads as being flat, but that is a blatant lie. This is angled lie-flat you will
slide off as you try to sleep, and there are many better options you can now
choose - in Europe, British Airways or Virgin, and to S America it is worth
looking at TAM who do have flat in Business class.

Madrid to Sao Paulo return. Iberia's most recent business class product is now
comparable to the other major continental european carriers. The seats are not
lie flat. Got around 3-4 hours sleep. Service was good even though cabin was
full both ways. On return leg the IFE was malfunctioned and was eventually shut
down.

Business Class

Flew both the A340-600 and A340-300 recently. Iberia assured me all planes have
now been outfitted with the new Business Plus seats, and both planes were. These
seats are not completely flat. There's a downward bend at the knee and a slight
raising of the head. I'm 6'1" and I couldn't stretch out fully; had to bend my
knees. Also, your feet fit into an area in the back of the seat in front of you
(or a hole in the bulkhead on the 300 in front). When I turned over, I had to
pull my feet out of the nook, turn over, and then reinsert them.

The Business Plus class as they call it if fairly comfortable. The seats are not
100% flat, as someone else mentioned. There's a slight tilt around the knee
region which is quite annoying, but it is good overall. Be carefull because they
have not refurbished all their A340-300. I recently traveled from JNB to MAD in
one of the older ones and it was BAD. Poor foot rest, head recline broken, not
maps and no power ports.

First Class

Pajamas, hotel style like slippers, big pillows, warm blankets, caring cabin
staff, excellent catering and very comfortable seats all make Iberia's First
Class a truly First Class experience. However an antiquated in-flight
entertainment system, a lack of arrival lounges and the fact that flight crew do
not refer to passengers by name does keep Iberia’s First Class a fair distance
away from truly world-leading airlines.
