BUSINESS CLASS : the new business class seat was a long awaited product upgrade, and it is
therefore disappointing to see that KLM has opted for the lower comfort quality variety, and now offers
a Business class product standards that falls some way behind many of its competitors. The seat is of the angled
lie-flat variety, and whilst satisfactory in the sitting/relaxing position, the comfort in the fully reclined position
was noted to be quite poor - a very marked sliding down effect, and somewhat restricted seat width. With the rapid
change of other airline products, this is surely a product that KLM will have to upgrade in 2008/9 to remain
competitive. Score : 7/10

AMS-Vancouver. Overall feeling; pretty bad product. The seat is not very comfortable, sleeping is impossible and you have no privacy.
IFE is pretty good, service of staff also (they just don't seem to be around a lot). I am a
platinum flyer for a few years now but I am going to switch to one of the other alliances. Much
rather fly BA or Lufthansa to the US/Canada. I don't understand why KLM decided to go for these
terrible seats when they finally upgraded their BC product. If they want my business again they'd
better upgrade it again soon!

Had to fly several times this year between Mexico City and AMS. More often this line is serviced by
older aircrafts sometimes still fitted with the old BC seat. Besides lacking an up-to-date IFE
these seats are a blessing in disguise compared to the new ones. Agree with most of the comments
mentioned above - and have not yet been able to get 10 mins of decent sleep in the latter. Also
like to make comment on service; KLM has still lot to learn from its competitors - service is left
to the individuals and hence inconsistent. Although in EC it is generally completely absent; staff
tend to be patronizing, inattentive and downright rude. Real 'cattle class' mentality. (PS Ratings
for new BC seats)

KLM must have the worst business class product on the market. Whilst staff were fantastic, they
seemed very embarrassed by their own product. Seat is terrible - when the person in the aisle seat
is asleep and fully reclined it is almost impossible to get out without disturbing them. Food bland,
amenities bag something from a christmas cracker.

Seat 1F. KLM website claims that this seat has a 170-degree incline, but it didn't feel that way.
More like a 20-degree angle to the horizontal, meaning a 160-degree incline. I kept sliding down,
making it hard to sleep. Video system worked well, with a decent selection of movies I wanted to see
(plus many I didn't). Audio requires a special 3-prong plug, meaning that my Bose noise-canceling
headset didn't work for listening to the movie. It has worked fine on all other airlines I have
flown and does give better sound quality than the flimsy headsets they pass out.

I was extremely disappointed with AMS-LAX business class flight. The seats were uncomfortable in a
flat position; I found myself spending a lot of time working the controls to get comfortable. Worst
of all, the service was practically non-existent and the food awful.

You do slip off the seats, stupid design - front of plane roomy (rows 1-5) - much nicer than upstairs.
Food OK, but when I asked the FA which white wine was dry, she replied "I don't drink wine, so haven't
got a clue to be honest". Overall its cost effective, and you get what you pay for.

We sat in the upper cabin seats 77A/B. These are behind the emergency exits and have masses of space
right across the whole width of the cabin. The seats were fine, not flat, but acceptable to spend 7
hours sipping wine, watching movies and eating good food. The Chinese food and drink theme that KLM
have at the moment was particularly good! The service was excellent although I must say there were
only 7 passengers on the upper deck so we enjoyed the experience even more than usual.

It is a pity that KLM is trying to compete against the premium economies
in this world instead of the Business Classes of Cathy, BA and Virgin. I
am 6 foot 4 and could not sleep properly.

After stepping off an Air New Zealand flight this was like a step back
into the dark ages. The only plus was that I was in the first seat in
the upper deck so I could stretch my legs onto the bins on the side. IFE
is appalling in these days. All in all a long step below the offerings
of other airlines.

Seat 79 in upper cabin of 747. When folded, the seat has a lovely
legroom. When extended, it doesn´t go flat and you cannot sleep on the
side. It is impossible to get out from the window seat when other beds
are extended.

Boeing 747 Business Class

I was a loyal KLM customer for at least 10 years in Business Class. When
I flew on April 1st from AMS to LAX it was the first time i had their
new Seats. Plus: Power Outlet and finally a better choice on the Audio
program. In sleeping position no room to put stuff in front of your
seat and, worst, you will not be able to find an acceptable sleeping
position. The old seats were better!

Boeing 777 Business Class

KLM's latest business class seat (also on the A330 and some 744s,
unfortunately), must be the worst out there. How they could design and
install such a seat is beyond comprehension, given that any number of
other airlines offer a far better product. The only thing in KLM's favor
is the excellent IFE system, but that could and should have been
installed in a far better seat.

There's nothing business class-like, if one is unlucky enough to be

supposed to be better than Economy class. Where lies the difference

Airbus 330 Business Class

The comfort of KLM world business class seats on the A330 is a little
better than the B777. Without any doubt KLM offers an inferior all over
business class travel experience regarding the comfort of seating and
its cabin configuration.

Boeing 747-400 Business Class
It came as a shock to discover that KLM are now installing the same
business class seats on their 747 aircraft as on their 777s and A330s.
It would seem that they are incapable of learning from their mistakes,
and have decided to compound their error instead. The result is that
their long haul business class product will be uncompetitive from a
comfort point of view for many years to come.

Boeing 777 Business Class
I have flown KLM Business Class to Manila twice recently. Their product is pretty boring. It needs a total revamp. Their angled bed
seats are bad. There is difficulty in getting into a comfortable position to sleep with getting back ache.
The Business Class lounge in Amsterdam is spartan very little choice in the way of snacks and
drinks. The number of newspapers and magzines available to read are low. The staff in the lounge
are not helpful and can be down right rude at times. The product needs a large injection of cash to bring it up to a decent standard.
