BUSINESS CLASS : an angled lie-flat seat. The comfort in upright and
relaxed position is okay, but cushion support on the firm side. The recline
position offers quite an angle, and with every best effort, you find yourself
sliding down the seat as you try to sleep. Definitely not comfortable for side
sleepers, but better if you lie on your back. Privacy is fair, but not matching
best practice standards of more recent seat pods. Comfort Score : 7/10
FIRST CLASS : an old-style First class seat. Comfort in seated / relaxing
position is good, with soft cushion support and reasonable seat width. Full flat
recline is provided, but this is the flat-bed style of seat so you do get bumps
and lumps in the reclined position. Privacy poor, and whilst okay for couple
travelling together, it does not offer comforts one expects in First Class
nowadays, and due for upgrading. Comfort score : 7/10 |

Frankfurt - Capetown, early March still using old style cradle seats, seat video
choice poor, service was good. Return with South African showed what a Business
Class cabin should be with good lie flat beds and entertainment on demand.

If you are lucky enough to get the window (single seat), then you should feel
like you are in first class. Overall, first class on LH is not much better than
business class on other airlines. I have yet to get my first-choice meal -- they
are always out by the time they get to me, which is ridiculous in the
first-class cabin.

like sitting in economy. Inflight entertainment is very limited. Its high time
they do something about it.

FRA-CPT-FRA. Check before you book if the new C-Class is available. On routings
to South Africa there are still the old seats. Very uncomfortable. I didn't
manage to sleep. When fully reclined the passengers behind you cannot get out of
their seats without disturbing your neighbour

Shanghai-Frankfurt. The upper deck of the Jumbo makes it feel exclusive. I would
suggest to diminish the number of seats to 8-10. Actually there are 16 seats.
The new leather seats are very comfortable and offer a great freedom of
movement. Quality of Video/Audio is not what you would expect in first class.
Monitor is smaller, compared to the ones you get in business on A340, choice of
channels/Films/ Music is quite limited. However, quality of food and service
makes up for this. Seems odd that they only give you a long sleeve polo shirt in
lieu of pyjamas/ sleeper suit and the amenity kit is quite spartan.

These new business class seats feel as if you are in a "coffin" as you lie
somewhat flat. The legroom is ample but where does one place their arms when in
a flat position? I noticed several people tossing and attempting to lay on their
sides in their attempts to sleep. The amenity kits could also be a bit more
generous!

I found the new seat terrible. Very hard and small to seat in. I managed to
sleep just 2 hours out of 12!! (PVG-MUC). This seat is not good for people who
usually sleep in "freefaller position" Other bad point is that the seat is
angled so you slip down when full reclined. Strange to say but I slept more on
the old seat. I really don't know why LH introduced this seat.

Boeing 747-400 : Business Class

I recently flew FRA-SIN with new lie-flat seats. Besides nice lumbar massage the
new seat provides plenty of leg space as the seat only stretch out in the
forward direction while in sleeping position. Always a special experience to get
a seat in the "nose" and 01C offered a superb silent leg due to no traffic
passing by my seat. Even though I have experienced better food and amenity kit
with Thai the new seat was a pleasure.

MUC-NRT-MUC. I took twice and for the first time, I thought it is great about
the seat preset positioning; up-right, relax and sleeping modes. I was impressed
about the sleeping mode that it would be a bit "waved" position to avoid
slipping down, after it became flat. The IFE video program was not on demand
then, unfortunately. For the second time, the IFE VOD was available; it is an
improvement, however I felt the seat is a bit narrow even though the armrest
would be lowered when sleeping mode was selected. As in the previous comment, it
seems the seats often become uncontrolable and needs rebooting.

New business class seats are comfortable, and modern, however I found the
"sleep" position uncomfortable because there is a slight "bump", if you want to
call it that in the center of the seat.

I have taken the new Business Class Seat a couple times over the Atlantic. The
first flight it took time to get used to the slight angle, but the seat is
comfortaible. On all other flights I slept a minimum of 6 hours and for me it is
one of the best seats.

FRA-ICN and back. First leg, seat didn't work at all. Was rebooted by FA, still
no movement. Got another seat that worked. Seat + IFE runs on windows CE - is
this the problem ? 2nd leg, everything worked fine. Observed many reboots of
seats. Seat is not that comfortable, compared to BA.

Vancouver-Frankfurt. The new Business Class has a lot of improvements compared

uncomfortable - if you turn it full-flat, because there is an angle of 9°, you
slip down.

Frankfurt to Santiago and back. Great new cabin but almost flat seats very
disappointing and tendency to slide down under the seat in front. Also very
difficult to get out of window seat if aisle passenger is reclined. Big
disappointment was in-flight video system. Lufthansa had a technician on board
because of unreliability. We lost 8 channels for half the flight. He told me
that Rockwell are on v12 of the software.

Boeing 747-400 : Business Class

I recently flew a 2 leg business class trip DXB-FRA-LAX. First leg I was in seat
12a and the seat itself was very nice. The only problem was that it was
impossible to get out without waking the person sitting in the aisle seat. Leg 2
I was in seat 5d and I think it is probably the best seat in Business if you do
not have to have a window. There was easy access in and out and being in the
front section the service was fast. The video entertainment system was lacking
in choices and the individual screen size was small.

Airbus A340-600 : Business Class

The new seats in business do not lie completely flat, they are comfortable and
easy to sleep in. One needs to be careful of delicate personal items on the
floor around your feet - it is very easy to get them jammed & damaged when
lowering or raising the seat to its two extremes. Food & wine is excellent,
although a few more choices on the latter would be nice. Cabin attendants were
plentiful & always at hand. Passenger controlled start-times would be a nice
feature for the video system.

crew who were polite, on hand, and very attentive. Food good and wine choice

comfortable when 'flat'. Didn't notice the angle at all and slept for 6 to 7
