Had seat 1A on the out bound from EWR to Warsaw, flight LOT 12 and seat 1F on the inbound FLight LOT 11
to Newark, with the bulkhead in front. The new seat at 18 inches wide is narrow for a Business class
cabin seat. Seat controls were visible but somewhat complicated to program..no instructions were
available. It wasn't until on my return flight to Newark did I found out that the seat had a button that
would lower the armrest containing the serving tray, to cushion level, allowing for an additional 2" of
uncushioned width. The seat has audio controls, and flight attendant call buttons, but they are
practically unaccessible imbedded on the bottom side of the middle armrest. It was a matter of putting
your hand next to the side of your body and feel your way down to the control panel, and blindly push the
buttons which hopefully would change the correct channels and control the volume. The seat has no
integrated video. However, the cabin has a video projector showing cartoons and a movie at the beginning
of the flight and during meal service The audio is brought via headphones connected to the seat and
controlled by the imbedded invisible audio controls. After the meals were served, the flight attendant
offered each passenger a DVD player with noise suppressing headphone and a variety of movies and
video/audio programs . This unit is independent and not connected to the seat. There is no personal LCD
monitor . When fully reclined, the seat was angled flat and had lumbar support.
