BUSINESS CLASS : Angled lie-flat seats which are set in a constricted seat pitch, and found to be uncomfortable when trying
to recline fully for sleep. Sitting / relaxing position is okay, but this cabin is a disappointment in comfort levels, and we consider
that SWISS will have to look at upgrading this cabin in the near future. Score : 7/10
FIRST CLASS : The First class flat-bed seats provide a good sleep comfort in full recline, although seat cushions
are firm. The seat pods have privacy shields, and quality levels are well rated for these seats. Score :
9/10 |

JFK-ZRH-BOM. SWISS should be ashamed of these seats. Onboard service is warm and wonderful. But all
that goes out the window when a 6'2" side sleeper can't get any sound sleep because the footrest
forces him into the foetal position. I left the trip with a backache - truly unprecedented. To me,
being able to sleep on these flights is essential, so I won't be flying long-haul on LX again.

Seats on the 330 are extremely old and uncomfortable when trying to sleep. Leg rest is short and
makes it very difficult to sleep. The seats on the 340's are better but still not the very
comfortable lie flats as in some other carriers.

A very bad note to the engineers who came with this seat, and the Managers who approved it. It is so
strange: there is a huge seat picth, but the leg support is too short, you must bend your legs -
and it is very inclined. Another oddity is the footrest itself, a very narrow bar instead of a wide
platform: as you will slide due to the legrest incline, you would need a good support for your feet
but the bar will hurt your feet soles. Therefore the lay-flat position is quite unconfortable. You
can raise your leg support higher if you keep your backseat more raised. |

GVA-JFK. Full lie-flat seats and a feather bed on the seat when you're ready to sleep. Entertainment
on the A330 was so-so (no real on demand) but comfort and room in first class more than made up for
it. |

much better. |

Old seats are not too bad for sitting on and easier than the new seats to sleep on. Recline is limited i.e. not flat-bed but it is
easier (than the new angled lie-flat seats that makes you slide down all the time) to find a reasonable sleeping position. 2x2x2,
pitch: 140 cm / 55", width: 51 cm / 20" . Footrest electronically adjustable, lumbar support. adrest & erflaps adjustable. In need
of an update but NOT with the A340 seats! |

Great seats, virtually identical in both aircraft types but A330 seats and table have a more solid feel. Width 56cm / 22", pitch
211cm / 83", table 76cm / 30" x 66cm / 26", bed 203cm / 80" x 60cm / 23.60". Completely electronic controls (except head rest &
ear-flaps) including adjustable ottoman with room for shoes etc. and also serves as a second seat at meal times, if you are
travelling with family/friend. Powerful adjustable reading light. Great full-size pillows and plush updated duvets which, together
with the noise-attenuating headphones, make for a good night's sleep. |

MIA-ZRH-BOM. A true disapointment. The new lie flat seat or the old SR seats in the A330 are up to the potential LX standards! |

Bangkok to Singapore and Singapore to Zürich First Class. Seat pitch very confortable, provided me the privacy I wanted and in
fact enjoyed a meal with another passenger using the ottoman as chair. There is quite a considerable difference in the meal
quality between Business Class and First Class, which also contributed to making the most of my trip. |

ZRH-JNB-ZRH: The "lie flat" seats are too short in any position and only adjustable in the footrest (up/down) and backrest
(up/down) + lumbar massage. This makes it very difficult to find a good relax position. I really missed that the footrest could be
extended. I found sleeping position not to bad, if you not recline the seat to full flat. Interior is quite nice and friendly.
Staff been helpfully and smart. IFE where ok not all movies available. On both flights my initial head phones where not working

While the onboard service and at seat amenities were satisfactory, the seat was NOT! Not only did it not lay flat, it was short.
In short, it made for a long trip in both directions from Chicago to Zurich. |

LAX-ZRH. Seats are not horizontal and rather short. But, I could therefore overcome the slide down effect as my feet exactly
reached the seat in front of me; I am 185 cm. Selection in the in-flight entertainment is quite limited (not all programs are
available in German) but handling of the system is very easy and user-friendly, better than LH new business class. |

Much below my expectations of its good old reputation. Compared to the much improved upgrades of the Asian rivals, Swiss business
class (Hon gKong-Zurich) has much to improve such as food menu, movies, cheap blankets and uncomfortable seats. Seat length seem
shorter and slope angle steeper than other airlines. Interior looks a bit worn out also. |

Not a lie flat seat at all. at 6 foot plus, the seat was most uncomfortable. I can't imagine why they would bother refitting with
such seats when for the same money and footprint they can get the Virgin or BA true lie flat seats. The angle is extreme for
trying to lie flat. Would not make this mistake twice. |

Regarding the all "business class" 48 seat converted 737, EWR-ZUR. Beware, these seats are the same as the old Virgin Upper Class.
It's a pity they didn't buy the entertainment system off Virgin as well. A portable DVD was offered, with movies from the last
millenium. On a flight of only 48 passengers, it took over an hour to get the drinks cart midway into the plane. Cost does not
equal value in this case. |

The ergonomics are great in the upright and reclined positions, but the slope of the seat in the sleeping position is extreme,
placing Swiss in the lowest tier of the "angled lie-flat" category. An undue amount of space is devoted to the armrest and center
console, giving the seat a somewhat narrow width. |

JFK GVA seat not at all what it should be these days with all the competition. Comfortable on sitting position but impossible for
sleeping. Also the difference between the seats on the 340 and the ones on the 330 can be quite confusing and misleading the
passenger. When you pay the same prices as BA for example where the seats are real lie flats the choice is not difficult to make. |
