BUSINESS CLASS : an angled lie-flat seat. The seats are quite comfortable
in relaxed/sitting position, although the footrest adjustment is somewhat
limited. High pod surround offers a reasonably good standard of privacy, when
sitting and reclined. The seat cushions are very flat, and lack some softness of
support. When fully reclined, the seat is the slide-down variety, so side
sleepers may find sleep disturbed. Comfort Score : 8/10
FIRST CLASS : Individual seat pods, these ANA seats are one of the widest
First class choices. Good level of privacy in the seat, and very comfortable
space when in the flat bed position. Only downside is that the seat cushions are
very firm and lack contouring/support when in the seated position, and when
fully flat, the mattress feels very hard. Comfort score : 9/10 |

Leg room was optimum and a brilliantly engineered seat seemed to complement the
flawless cabin service which made me want to stay on board forever, however, the
"amazing" pod-seat (complete with massage function) when in bed mode was
excruciatingly uncomfortable and too short for my 5'7" body. Part of the problem
was the angle, and the sensation of sliding, and part of the problem was the
lack of support and the seeming hardness where the cushion joins occurred. It
was so uncomfortable I actually went and sat in an economy seat for 3 hours. I
was so disappointed as the service left that of other airlines behind.

A truly excellent experience on my flight from NRT to IAD. I found the seat
comfortable in all positions. The bed was made up for you and even remade when
you went to the bathroom. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the
food was excellent. Save room for some of the excellent food available from the
Delights menu. Hard to fault and totally recommended.

Very comfortable lie-flat seat, although it does rest at a slight angle fully reclined. IFE system
one of the best. Food and business class cabin service is great. Try the Japanese food choices as
well. Stand-up bar areas in business class, so you can get up and move around easily during the
flight if you like.

SHA-NRT. seat 4K in the new Business class. Angled lie flat seat had many options including a decent
lumbar support. IFE system was out of order for the first hour of the flight and when it finally
worked, it wasn't up to par compared to Singapore airlines or Emirates. The privacy separator board is
not that efficient as my neighbor was constantly moving and my whole seat was shaking every time.

Not bad, but not great, either. I'm 6'6" (1.98m) and no chance to stretch fully
out. Could have been exacerbated because it was a bulkhead seat. I think anyone
over 1m90 would have problems to lay flat in this bed. Head rest didn't go up
high enough for me, so it was digging into the top of my shoulders the entire 12
hour flight. Comfort while sitting was good. Entertainment system was quite
nice, good films, controls useful, good headset quality (although the Sony noise
cancellation technology didn't seem to cancel out the background noise very
well).

NRT-LHR Immaculate service from crew. Perhaps a bit too much presence as the
continual walking around to see if anybody wanted anything was disturbing. Avoid
seat 5A as it has no partition behind it so you are very aware of crew moving
around.

IAD-NRT. Superb service and fantastic food. The cardigan to stay warm is a nice
touch. The films start whenever you want and the PVT screens are large. The seat
is very nice though with my 1.91m/6.3'' it is too short like in any C class I
have ever experienced. I rate ANA's C-class (in the 77-300) better than BA or
Cathay Pacific (and 10x better than United which recently started same route).

NRT-LHR. This is an excellent, almost-flat, almost-level seat. It seemed a
little tighter than the very similar AC 350 and SQ seat, and is not as
comfortable for sleeping as BA Club World. ANA has really wonderful food in C,
especially Japanese. Upper deck was totally reserved months out, but the main
deck was nice and fairly empty.

SFO-NRT. Old business class and I had forgotten how lousy it is. The seats have
very little pitch. The a/v control is also poorly placed, so that every time you
shift in your seat and touch it, it resets the movie you're watching. Don't
bother flying ANA if your route doesn't have the new seats.

FRA-NRT and NRT-JFK. All in all it is great. The seat cannot be truly flat; it
is still angled; however it is the best I've ever experienced. Wide enough and
they serve woollen cardigan for in-flight relaxing and also a feather duvet upon
your request.

Superb - the best seat in the sky. I am tall and wide and slept soundly for 6-7
hours without difficulty. Good food, great IFE and excellent staff. Would I pay
for it - probably not, but that is the beauty of air miles! .

Flat beds in a sort of egg-shaped contraption, an ANA cardigan given out along
with the blanket - so those shoulders stay warm too.

Our return to Tokyo from Europe originated in Geneva, and we connected to NH202
on the LHR-NRT sector. The first class cabin had the new individual "pods,"
which recline into the widest beds in the sky - the armrests are lowered flush
into the seat and become part of the bed. We could virtually roll around in our
beds (of course, one to each bed! - we were seated in 1A and 1K, which is
recommended if you are traveling together as the seats are close enough to allow
for conversation).
