BUSINESS CLASS : The new business class seat is at the lower comfort quality rating, and offers a Business class product standards that falls some
way behind many of its competitors. The seat is of the angled lie-flat variety, and whilst satisfactory in the sitting/relaxing
position, the comfort in the fully reclined position was noted to be quite poor - a very marked sliding down effect, and somewhat
restricted seat width. With the rapid change of other airline products, this is a product that Northwest Airlines need upgrade in
2008/9 to remain competitive. Score : 7/10 |

AMS-SEA return. The plane was fairly new, spacious, good lighting. Excellent service, food above
average for business class. Seat was good for sitting and relaxing bur did not lie completely flat
and not so good for sleeping.

I flew the DTW-AMS-BOM route on the A330 in Sept-2007. I'm 5' 11" and the seats are pretty good. If
you are taller than me, please beware. It really depends on how you sleep (stomach, side, fetal,
facing up). On a long haul, eventually you will fall asleep. I really don't sleep on flights, but
was able to eventually. Since they are in an angle, you will slide down. I guess the solution is to
wear some grippy clothes so you stick to the seat. These seats are very comparable to the
Continental 777 that they use for the EWR-DEL route. If you have flown BA Business, then this will
not compare (DXB-LHR-JFK). The food was better than what I got on BA and par to Continental. The
entertainment system is on-demand, which is nice and allows for passing time quite quickly.

The new WBC seat is absolutely terrible. Of all the angled-flat seats in the sky, this is the most
uncomfortable - whether sitting or attempting to sleep. |

I liked the old business class seats much more. I have flown the Detroit/Narita route several times.
I am short, 5'3, and find the sleeping position very uncomfortable. I thought perhaps it was just my
height, that the seat was engineered for average height people. I can usually sleep anywhere, not in
this seat. I also hate the hoods they put on the seats. It seems a shame to pay all that money for
such an uncomfortable seat. |

I was surprised that such a hi-tech seat missed the most important feature - comfort. Despite all of the various adjustments
possible, I just couldn't get comfortable to sleep, and I can sleep almost anywhere. The eating position was a little awkward, as
well. I agree that the seating position, especially the "full upright and locked position", had an annoying forward pitch. The
"personal entertainment system" functioned well, but the selection of movies left a lot to be desired. |

SEA-AMS in Business Class. Aircraft was clean, but looks can deceive -- five minutes after sitting in my WBC seat the FA mentioned
that the audio didn't work. They (fortunately) had another one open, else the flight would have been disastrous. As for the seat
itself - AVOD is fantastic, great selection of music, videos, and maps. Sitting: No complaints. Sleeping: WBC fails in this
regard. I made a futile attempt to sleep - seats are too narrow, cushioning in all the wrong places, and you can't sleep without
opening the footrest (thus placing pressure on your feet/legs). I arrived in Amsterdam very weary. I'd probably be a bit turned
off if it wasn't my company paying for my flight! |

Recently flew from Milwaukee to the Far-East with stops in 4 countries. The new seats are not as comfortable as were the old ones.
It is impossible to keep from sliding down when in the flat position. They look neat but that is where it stops. Even with the aid
of sleep medication it is difficult to sleep in these seats. Overall sevice/attitude and food in business class has been
disappointing compared to years gone by. However, the cost of a ticket has not decreased. |

Seats are very uncomfortable in a normal sitting position. (slight improvement when you sit on the blanket) In the "Lie flat"
position I was unable to find any position that afforded much good sleep. Service was decent, although they are all so angry and
bitter over cutbacks that they make certain you're aware of their plight at all cost. While I'm fairly sympathetic to their cause,
at some point it's time to move on. |

Sliding down is a constant problem which others have observed. Service still continued to be excellent, but I sure wish they would
do something about the seats. |

I was a big fan of the older World Business Class, so I was very disappointed with the new version. The bed is very hard and
uncomfortable. You tend to slide down, so it is hard to sleep. I wish they had either made no change or hired a better engineer
before spending all the money they must have. The overall service is fine, but sleep is the number 1 priority on a 12 hour flight
and this is a sad miss. |

Old style seat was comfortable. The new World Business is to narrow and I hate the plastic hood (A330 aircraft). Food service
excellent and service very good. Row one has the best and most amount of leg room, but only on the 747 200. On the 747 400 as well
as the DC 10 & A330 row 1 is not good because they cut the space down and it is not roomy at all. Since entering Bankruptcy I have
noticed the level of service in World Business has gone down. I would stay away from them, the new World Business Class is just
not as good as it used to be. |
