BUSINESS CLASS : Asiana have fitted a new angled lie-flat business class
seat. Offering a reasonable seat width, the seat privacy is also quite good.
Comfort levels in the sitting/relaxing position are good, but in full recline
the seat is angled down, and suffers the problem of sliding down the seat when
trying to sleep. Okay for shorter intercontinental flights, we found that on the
longest sectors this is not a comfortable seat for side sleepers, and the
cushion support is too firm. Comfort Score : 7/10
FIRST CLASS : New flat-bed individual pod style seats are now installed across 747-400 aircraft
and these offer a good level of comfort. The level of privacy is somewhat limited by the lower style
of seat pod surround, but seat space storage options were noted to be good. Comfort levels in the
seated / relaxing positions are good, although in full flat recline the seat cushion surface was noted
to be slightly on the firm side. Nonetheless, a good sleeping product and good comfort levels. Comfort score : 8/10

Seat 3K on Incheon-LHR in April 2008, on one of the company's 777's that does
not offer VOD (on the positive side the screen is large, almost as wide as the
seat). I found the seat, which goes to flat but not horizontal position to be
relatively good for this type, with good foot-rest adjustments, although the the
seat tends to 'reset itself' to a standard position when trying to change
certain adjustments. The service was excellent.

JFK-ICN Business class. Planes seats were angled lie flat seats, with a 12 inch screen. Separate
reading light & privacy screen was a few nice touches. With the well trained flight attendents, the
14 hour long flight passed fast and was comfortable.

It was a new business class configuration. A lot better than the old types, but there was a problem
of sliding down occasionally. |

Nice seat. Good pitch and width. Flat but angled but still much better than Asiana's ancient seats
in their 747s. Good screen size but IFE was not AVOD however significant choices. |

ICN-HKT. Old type seats with 151 degree recline. The service, food and atmosphere were good. |

New style Biz seats are an improvement over the previous 80's style. The sloping design cited by many
others is not comfortable. The video/entertainment systems vary by aircraft, with both 777's I flew
having different degrees of VOD. On a shorter flight on an Asiana A-330 there was excellent VOD with
full programming capabilities. The service is excellent, the food OK with the exception of the main
courses which are served in a caserole dish rather than plated. Thank goodness that on most flights
the FA's are amazing. Some call this a 5 star airline. With the inconsistency it is 3.5 star with 5
star FA's. |

Very nice, sat in the first row. I'm 6 foot, and lie flat was
comfortable. Food was excellent, even got a nice gift at the end.
Shanghai to Seoul in 777, pretty standard but good meal, then the 747
home. The only downside was the IFE was pretty poor - not many choices,
could not control start time, headphone jack was not good.

An 'angled' lie-flat seat with individual shell. A bit narrowish due to 2-3-2 layout in narrower-
than-747 fuselage. With 60" distance to work with, the flat bed had to be angled downward. I felt
unstable in flat position, felt my body would slide downward. Separate reading light & privacy
screen was a few nice touches.

LAX-Seoul in first class. Planes were old and seats were the old style flat ones. The leg room was
decent for what the price was. The personal kit was very nice with a wide range of Bvlgari lotions.
I also got a pair of pajamas.

Reclined to the flat bed position is not truly flat as the foot rest sags down
about 4 inches and tends to bounce even in light aircraft turbulence. I am
surprised at the other review stating the first row leg room as good, the first
row has slightly smaller seats to conform to the fuselage narrowing.
