BUSINESS CLASS : Angled lie-flat seats provided on QANTAS long haul aircraft. Comfort levels are mid ranked
overall, with the usual sliding down feeling when the seat is fully reclined. Seat pod format provides reasonable privacy,
but the seat pitch means that window seat passengers will have difficult access in/out of seat when adjacent aisle seat in full recline.
With the increasing number of airlines offering proper flat beds in Business class, QANTAS will need an early upgrade for these seats to
match rising standards. Planned product for the Airbus A380 seats look promising. Score : 7/10
FIRST CLASS : The First class flat-bed seats offer a reasonable sleep comfort in full recline, although the seat cushions
are firm, and these seats are looking quite dated and worn. The seat pods have reasonable privacy, and the seat length and
seat width are considered to be fair. Again, this is a product that needs updating as it is now looking dated and lacking the required
feel of First class travel. Score : 7/10 |

Seats are looking past their sell-by dates and I was glad that there were only 4 passengers out of a
possible 14 as the cabin feels cramped compared to that of Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific.
The seat was comfortable in sitting mode but less so as a bed. For me it was simply not wide enough
- if only the armrests were retractable! That said the service was excellent as was the food - no
complaints at all. TV monitor was both on the small side and very limited in its movement so hard to
see it depending on your position.

LAX to BN. Angle of the lie flat seats meant that you always felt as if you were sliding, very
difficult to sleep. Qantas take forever to turn on in flight entertainment and turn it off about 40
minutes before landing; irritating and unnecessary. Food OK, Pyjamas comfortable, wines good. IFE
not very good. When not asleep, realised that the seats were just plain uncomfortable and awkward.
Storage room for seats at front row of the Bubble was great and access for window seat passenger was
also good. Meals insufficient for such a long flight, true you could order a snack, but with the
cabin darkened and the crew chatting to each other, that was awkward. On the plus side, the crew are
very nice and very welcoming. Loved the express pass that is provided to expedite customs and
immigration in Australia.

SIN-LHR. Cabin very cramped. Bed service not completely satisfying (only mattress provided but no
real duvet). Also quality of amenities (ie. pyjamas) could be improved. But these drawbacks are
caught by the provided service.

I found myself sliding down the seat when it was in the full flat position. Sat on the upper deck on
the first row and had plenty of room and storage space with deep bins on the edges of the cabin that
were a bonus. |

Seats comfortable, only drawback was you slide down when in flat / sleeping position (best to not
fully recline and have flat spot near your bottom creating a zig zag in seat to eliminate the slide).
The movies screen was in the seat back of cocoon in front and you had to move your body for the screen
as it had very little movement like the pivot type screens. My 11 year old daughter sat next to me and
occupied the window seat, each time she wanted to leave the seat she had to literally climb over me
when my seat was stretched out. It would be awkward if the person sitting next to you is unknown. On
return one of my legs was first class. |

Seats excellent, almost flat, no trouble with sliding. A little bit harder to get out from the
window seat but not a huge problem. Staff attentive and helpful. Lots of storage beside the window
seat (Upper Deck) |

I like the cocoon seats providing a good deal of privacy, but having a window seat is a negative - have you ever tried getting
over the person next to you when they are stretched out asleep? A negative is the lack of storage space to put odd things, the
bottle holder space is great, the space on top of the seat in front might be a nice idea but in practice doesn't work. The seat
in bed mode is not completely flat causing one to slide down. Hard to get used to, and needs to improve for the long hauls and
red eyes. |

Melbourne to Hong Kg: Seats are comfortable especially to sleep - slip down from time to time. I did note that it took 45
minutes after take off before we were offered a drink, rather poor compared to other airlines. |

HNL-SYD on this tired aircraft. Still the old "Dreamtime" product, not even the newer type that went into 744's before the
Skybed came in, so the seats were tattered and worn looking. Tiny screens and generally not very comfortable for a 10 hour
flight. Cabin crew were excellent but embarrassed by the aircraft. Qantas has a cheek operating and selling this as a premium
product in this day and age. Would have rated as an okay some years back but given that we are in 2007. |

LHR-BKK-LHR. I found the skybeds very comfortable and when reclined flat it was nice to have the cocoon environment which made
it private. Sometimes I found myself sliding down the bed but sleeping in a zig zag position was really comfy. The cabin service
was excellent they were very attentive. Had Video on Demand. |

MEL-LHR. Stop in SIN. Superb service and comfort on the first leg, less so on the longer leg into Heathrow. An excellent seat
with plenty of room, excellent food and wine, and attentive service. Enjoyed the personal introduction by the senior cabin
attendant. An excellent product and experience. |

SIN-MEL and SYD-SFO. First aircraft looking tatty inside; second fine. Bed was fine - bedding covers the cushions. The duvets
tend to be hot, partly because like most airlines QF keeps the night time cabin too warm. A light blanket option would be nice.
Video monitor awkwardly located in sidewall, and QF has an annoying habit of not switching on the system until 30 minutes or
more after take-off, then switching it off 45 minutes before landing - can't watch Airshow map during departure/approach. All
male cabin crew both flights -- not exactly Singapore girls, but a hoot, nevertheless. Service and food fine - not SQ or CX, but
good competition for UA.

SFO-SYD - I found the seat to be comfortable albeit there's a hard metal pole under the footrest around the knee area which took
a little bit of adjusting to when lying on my side. The cocoon over my head was great as it blocked any noise and light. I'd
vote overall as 4/5.

LHR - Sydney return. The wide-ranging choice of seat positions was excellent, giving opportunities to alter posture as often as
we wanted to and the positioning of the monitor at eye- level was well-designed. Regarding the sleeping position: I liked
feeling 'cocooned' but didn't find the 'bed' as comfortable as I hoped: it was very firm and I kept sliding downwards on the
slippery surface. A 'fatter' pillow would have helped too. I managed to clamber over my sleeping partner without waking him but
a larger person would have struggled to manage this.

PER-NRT return on Qantas SkyBed. We sat in row 2 - best choice on these overnight flights - if you are in row 1, the lights from
the forward section beyond the bulkhead curtains stream in when crew or passengers pass through them. Overall, an excellent
product and great service.

Recently flew MEL-LAX with Qantas. Found the new skybed bed did not match the BA Flatbed or Virgin Upper class products. Maybe I
was just unlucky but my flatbed had electrical problems and the FA's were not quite sure how to place back to upright manually.
The reaction of the FA's was very curt and unhelpful, many passengers commented to the "Cabin Manager" but she had an
uninterested approach. The noise from FA's sitting in spare business class seats was interruptive as they chatted, laughed and
ignored passengers. Qantas most certainly does not match BA or Emirates for service or products. |
