BUSINESS CLASS : Full flat bed seats are provided in this SAA business class, and comfort levels are very well ranked,
with the seat being ranked world's Best Business Class seat for 2 years running. The seats are fully flat, and have a good amount of
space around the footwell area, so you are now reclining into the seat in front like some airlines. The seat cushions are firm and
slightly bumpy when fully reclined, but seat width is good and a comfortable sleep position delivered. Seat pods offer a good
level of privacy, and unlike many newer Business class seats, these SAA seats are front facing, arranged in pairs and not
angled into the cabin / away from the windows. Score : 9/10
FIRST CLASS : South African Airways has now discontinued its First Class service as the Boeing 747-400 aircraft are taken
out of the airline fleet. |

Two trips- Atl-JBG. Slpt well 6-7 hrs each way on lie flat bed-seats. Can sleep on back or either side. Privacy is better than bus
class usually is. Hoods over head and shoulders decrease irritation of snoring noise. isle seats are more accessible to the
lavatories but windows are not too bad either. Compared to other bus class I have been in this is easily the best. |

Cape Town to London, and these business class bed-seats are simply the best. More comfortable than BA or Virgin on these routes,
and certainly beat all Asian airlines I have used in past 2 years. Well done to SAA for getting this right! |

Just flew Honolulu-Atlanta-Johannesburg and return in 5 days with the Atlanta -Johannesburg-Atlanta legs via SA's business class.
The full flat seat along with duvet and most comfortable pillow was the next best thing to being in my own bed. |

PAR to Johannesburg. Lot of space in Business. Seat reclined was not totally flat but was comfortable, but not like totally flat
as B747-400. Food and wine good, excellent service. |

Millennium cabin from LHR to Cape Town and back. Never seen so much space in Business - must have easily been 8 foot between
myself and the next row. In front Business section only two rows of seats, in second section three. Seat reclined totally flat and
was very comfortable. Thick warm duvets and big pillows just added to the experience. Food and wine good, but excellent champagne
selection on this flight. Will never go back to BA or Virgin on this route again. |

Flying JNB-LHR-JNB for a long weekend, my flatbed seat in Business Class was sheer heaven! Having flown on the A343 also in
Business, I personally find the flatbed seats on the 747-400's more comfortable than those on the Airbus. |

ATL-JNB . Truly a flat-bed and very comfortable. Duvet, pillow exceptional. This aircraft is the gold standard - it will be hard
to go back to mere BizElite with the Delta 7 |

Johannesburg to Frankfurt - The Premier Cabin is quite a huge upgrade from the old one. The seats are the best in Business Class
and service is excellent. The food and wine selection were very good. Nice IFE and a very generous amenity kit. Well done SAA. |

I flew between London and Johannesburg in Business Class in August. Superb, the lie flat seat was extremely comfortable, the meals
and service were of excellent quality. On the return leg I had a First Class upgrade. I have nothing but praise for SAA on this
excellent product. The seating is fantastic and the meals and service outstanding. |

The best by far! SAA has truly eclipsed the other international carriers with this lie-flat bed. BA and Virgin cannot match SAA
for sleeping comfort and space (That's what really counts for me - movies, meals and service are all secondary). Singapore and
Cathay will rue their decisions to try to save space with their sliding contraptions - they will have to go to truly "flat" to
compete. |

Without doubt this is the most comfortable business class seat in the market - it is a flat bed and not like the angled lie-flat
of airlines like Cathay, Qantas, Lufthansa and all the others. It is wider and more spacious than BA club world, and much better
ambience than the coffin like partition walls on "some" of the Virgin Atlantic planes. Flew this SAA seat from FRA-JNB return, and
looking forward to my next trip with SAA already. |
