Singapore-LAX on A340-500 all business class configuration. As others have noted, the AV
system is terrific, the noise-cancelling headphones are phenomenal. The new seat is fine for
sleeping (as long as you're not more then 6' tall), although the foot space is a bit cramped.
But it's certainly wide and the pillows are very good. For sitting and lounging, though, the
seat leaves a lot to be desired. Can't really put your feet up, and the 30" width means no
lateral support. So it's not great for reading or just relaxing. Meal service is terrific,
however, and the crew is very gracious and friendly.

Can't understand why the new SQ business class seat is getting great reviews. I've flown with it 6 times now and
still prefer the old seat, even if it slopes. The new seat is hard and harsh. It's more like a bench - it's actually
too wide, even for a big guy like me. Worst of all, when you're feeling sleepy, you have to get up and muck around
lifting and pulling to get it into the lie-flat position. By which time you're wide awake again.

First time on the new A380. The seat is extremely wide and goes completely flat. The entertainment unit is state of
the art and unrivalled. Lots of leg room and a huge amount of personal space. Service is second to none. To be recommended.

Although the privacy is top notch I have to say that the seat really is not that comfortable. I was travelling SIN
- HKG and did get a seat in the small front cabin (only 8 seats so nice and quiet). If you want to put your feet up
the seat really isn't that comfortable. You end up rather twisted if you want to watch the IFE. The recline does
not go back that far and you can't raise your feet directly in front of you. Sitting by the window you almost have
a private cabin, which is superb. I would agree with other reviewers. Great for sleeping. Not so great for
sitting and reclining.

Wide - at least 60cm - and leather. Very comfortable in seated position and then it flips over to form a fully flat
bed, which is long and wide. In flight service, entertainment etc perfect - and totally on time performance.
